Dr. Rajendra Sukhraj is a Guyanese-born urological surgeon who currently serves as a Consultant Urologist at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Guyana. His medical training began at the University of Guyana where he obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2002, and a PostGraduate Diploma in General Surgery in 2009. He subsequently pursued post-graduate training in Urology at the University of the West Indies, graduating with a Doctor of Medicine Degree in Urology in 2019. Dr. Sukhraj returned to Guyana in 2019 and has worked as a specialist urological surgeon at several leading institutions in both the private and public sectors. In a short time, he had several fundamental changes in the way urologic pathologies are treated in Guyana. Dr. Sukhraj was the first to perform laser lithotripsy of kidney stones in Guyana, in both the private and public sectors. He has performed more than 300 of these procedures. He was also the first to perform supine percutaneous nephrolithotomy in the public sector in Guyana. These new procedures have essentially eliminated the need for open stone surgery. Prostate cancer diagnosis and 6 treatment have also significant changes with ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy being performed for the first time in the public sector. Dr. Sukhraj is a member of several international societies, including an international member of the American Urological Association and the Vice-President of the Caribbean Urological Association. He has several published abstracts and peer-reviewed publications and has attended and presented at numerous urological conferences.

Dr.Ravi Motilall is a Consultant General surgeon and Endoscopic surgeon at Georgetown Public Hospital and all other major Hospital in the city. His beginnings are humble in that he is originally for Mahaica East Coast Demerara. He then pursued his secondary education under the alma Mata of “Aeterna Non Caduca” at Saint Stanislaus college. His first undergraduate degree is in biology at the University of Guyana which was then followed by an Undergraduate degree in Medicine and Surgery. He then gained his postgraduate Diploma in Surgery through the University of Guyana in affiliation with the Canadian association of General surgeons and then went on to get Fellowship training in Minimal Invasive surgery and Endoscopy at McMaster’s University Canada. He also holds a master’s in Surgery from the University of Edinburgh. Currently Dr. Motilall spends most of his time working in Oncological surgery and minimal invasive surgery which are his passion and enjoys teaching. 5 He is an adjunct professional for the University of Guyana undergraduate program and is a principal faculty for the Post graduate program. His love for biology, nature and the environment has not faltered in all these years.

Dr. Shilindra R Rajkumar is a consultant plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgeon with over 14 years of experience. Shilindra is originally from the Essequibo Coast, Guyana, and was educated at the University of Guyana where he completed his medical training, obtaining a degree in Medicine and Surgery, and a diploma in General Surgery. Dr. Rajkumar has fellowship training in Plastic Surgery which he did with the University of Ottawa through the Ottawa Hospitals and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. He also has a second fellowship with the University of Toronto in Burn Care at the Ross Tilley Burn Center, Sunnybrook, Toronto. He is on the Medical Council of Guyana’s specialist register (F - 2253) and his extensive training and experience have allowed him membership in the Caribbean 7 College of Surgeons (CCOS) and Caribbean Association of Reconstructive and Plastic Surgeons (CARPS). Dr Rajkumar’s independent private practice is based in Georgetown. He currently splits his time between his private work, teaching, and consulting at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation in the department of Plastic Surgery. His outstanding service and years of dedication to this institution have earned him the post of Head of the Department of General Surgery and its Sub-specialties. Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation provides specialist services for all ten administrative regions of Guyana so his responsibilities in this area is countrywide. Shilindra dedicates a proportion of his time to research and training, particularly in the area of surgical site infections, and is currently the Principal Tutor at the University of Guyana, School of Medicine. Over the past five years, he has served as Guyana’s representative on the Council of the Caribbean College of Surgeons and has over that same period functioned as editor of the Journal of the Caribbean College of Surgeons. Dr. Sawan Jagnarain is a Guyanese-born medical doctor who is from the county of Berbice. He completed his medical education at GreenHeart Medical University (GMU). He went on to become an academic coordinator/Lecturer at GMU. While medical education was his passion, he was challenged by a role at Texila American University (TAU), as their academic coordinator. During that tenure, he overlooked the functioning of the faculty while being the eye, ears, and voice for the dean. He was also, privileged to work on CAAM-HP documentation for TAU. However, he moved to clinical medicine at Georgetown Public Hospital Corp. where he served in the Internal Medicine and family medicine department. He secured a spot at the University of Bedfordshire to pursue a Master of Science in Public health. He has also secured a Fellow from the Royal Society of Public Health, England. After this, he joined the team at Surgical Associates which sees itself as the fastest-growing healthcare entity in Guyana, currently. He currently lectures clinical students in the area of Family Medicine.
